2016 Domaine Millet Chablis 1er Cru Vacoupin

Instead of a barely original tasting note please insert the standard eulogy to Chablis here. The one that says citrus, yellow fruits, oyster shells, savoury lactics and the unstoppable reach for another sip. Not the wine to win shows but hearts. Not a great wine but with some fresh endangered species Turbot from a Paris market it makes life so delicious. Sort of an end of world match, a terroir threatened by a warming planet and an animal in peril from its own scrumptiousness. Pleasure and maybe a little regret….almost.

13% alcohol. Cork. 25 euros.

92 points but so much more to drink.
