The latest 2015 Southern Rhone of a few recently opened. Starting to think it’s the most scrumptious harvest of recent years. A shame lots will be drunk and gone before they get a chance to really unfurl. Less so, perhaps, this effort as it’s really yum from tree bark extraction. Remejeanne always seem to produce clean meticulously made wine, unaffected by the unhygienic methods traditional of the Rhone. Organic and little mucking around in the making and still clean, seems it’s possible. This smells fresh, red fruited and woody herbed. The mouthful the same with that delicious naturally mouthwatering acid freshness of the vintage. Perhaps a bit of carbonic maceration in the making pushes the fruit forward and open for business. Lovely fragrant Grenache indeed.
Second day it became richer and showed ripe raspberries lightly dusted in icing sugar. Quite suave for a Rhone Grenache with a bit of Syrah.
